KIS/ BSP Masterclasses

Klassisk i Sentrum (KIS), in collaboration with the Baltic Sea Music Education Foundation, is delighted to present masterclasses in violin, viola, cello, double bass, piano, and chamber ensembles in Heringsdorf/Usedom (Germany), from 22 to 28 February 2026.
Held in partnership with the Baltic Sea Philharmonic Orchestra’s Music Education Foundation (BSPMF), the masterclasses form part of an ongoing effort to identify and support outstanding young musicians — including potential new additions to the Baltic Sea Philharmonic’s shortlist for future projects.

Location & Travel
Heringsdorf is a seaside resort in north-eastern Germany, easily reached by air and rail via Berlin, Hamburg, or Szczecin. Teaching will take place primarily in Heringsdorf.
KIS has negotiated highly favourable partner rates with selected hotels and restaurants for participating students.
Format
The course fee includes 3–6 lessons of 45 minutes, with the option to add extra lessons if capacity allows. Participants will also have opportunities to perform in concerts in the region, and we will organise additional ensemble activity during the week.

Solo classes:
3–6 lessons (45 min): €330–€660
Lessons may be split between different teachers.
Add-on (subject to availability): Individual lesson (45 min) — €100
Ensemble classes
3–6 sessions (60 min): €490–€760 per ensemble

Piano Scholarships (Accompaniment)
KIS offers up to four scholarships for pianists focusing on collaborative piano/accompaniment. Scholarship recipients have the course fee waived in return for assisting fellow participants as accompanists in lessons and concerts.
To apply, please submit two accompaniment excerpts (approx. 3 minutes each).

Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis, but we will keep at least 20% of places open until the deadline.

Payment
Upon acceptance, 40% of the course fee is due within 7 days. The remaining balance must be paid no later than 30 January 2026.
Refund Policy
Paid fees are fully refundable until 30 January 2026. After this date, cancellations are non-refundable unless the place can be filled by another qualified participant.

Accommodation
We collaborate with several accommodation providers; information will be published continuously.
Estimated hotel costs: €30–€100 per night, depending on location and room sharing. Hotels are generally of a high standard, and some multi-bed rooms include basic cooking facilities.

Returning Participants Discount
