Participants will also have the opportunity to perform in concerts across the region. Some ensemble activities will also be organised. Grimstad is located in the far south of Norway, where winter can be snowy and beautiful. Alongside encounters with inspiring teachers, fellow musicians and audiences, we believe the setting itself will offer memorable experiences. Grimstad is approximately a three-hour drive from Oslo. You can travel there by flying to Oslo and continuing by bus. Kristiansand Airport is even closer, approximately 45 minutes from Grimstad. Classes will mainly take place in Grimstad and Arendal. Klassisk i Sentrum has arranged favourable rates with local hotels and restaurants for participating students. Course fees: Solo: 3–6 classes of 45 minutes each €390–€780 Classes may be distributed among different tutors. Add-on: Individual lessons, subject to availability: 45 minutes – €130 per session Ensemble: 2–4 teaching sessions of 90 minutes: €490–€980 per ensemble. Sessions may be distributed among different mentors. Add-on: Ensemble or individual lessons, subject to availability: 45 minutes, €130 per session KIS offers up to four scholarships for students who wish to develop their skills in accompaniment. Their course fees will be covered in exchange for assisting fellow students as accompanists during lessons and concerts. Applicants to this programme must submit two examples of accompaniment, each three minutes long. For all applicants: Please complete the application form. You may also include a link to a short video of yourself playing, lasting no more than five minutes. KIS assess applications on a rolling basis, but we keep at least 20 per cent of the places available until the application deadline of January 15, 2027. If you or your ensemble are accepted for the masterclasses, 40 per cent of the course fee must be paid within seven days of confirmation of acceptance. The remaining balance must be paid no later than the registration deadline of January 15, 2027. Refunds: KIS ACADEMY offers a full refund of fees paid until January 15, 2027. Cancellations after this date will not be refunded unless the participant can be replaced by another qualified course participant. We have made arrangements with various accommodation providers. Information will be published as it becomes available. Hotel accommodation is estimated at €30–€100 per night, depending on the accommodation and the number of people sharing a room. Hotels generally offer a high standard. Some shared hotel rooms have basic cooking facilities. Cabin rentals and Airbnb accommodation are also available. PLEASE NOTE!
