KIS/ BSP Masterclasses

Klassisk i Sentrum (KIS), in collaboration with the Baltic Sea Music Education Foundation (BMEF), is pleased to invite you to masterclasses in violin, viola, cello, double bass, piano, and chamber ensembles in Heringsdorf/Usedom (Germany) 22–28 February 2026. The masterclasses are part of BMEF’s long-term work to promote and support young musicians at a high level. For participants, this also represents an opportunity to be considered for future projects – and potentially placement on the Baltic Sea Philharmonic Orchestra’s shortlist. - - - OUR PROFESSORS: Andrej Bielow - violin/ chamber music Jan Bjøranger - violin/ chamber music Carla Marrero Martinez - viola/ violin/ chamber music Øyvind Gimse - cello/ chamber music Dušan Kostić - double bass/ ensemble Yejin Gil - piano/ chamber music - - - The course fee entitles you to 3–6 teaching sessions of 45 minutes, with the possibility of additional lessons if capacity allows. In addition, participants will have the opportunity to take part in concerts in the region. Some ensemble activity will also be organized. Heringsdorf is located by the sea in north-eastern Germany and can be reached by plane and train via Berlin, Hamburg, and Sczcecin. Teaching will primarily take place in Heringsdorf. Klassisk i Sentrum has made agreements with hotels and restaurants in the area offering very favorable rates for participating students. Course fees: Solo 3 - 6 teaching sessions of 45 minutes 330€ - 660€ Teaching may be distributed among different teachers. Add on: Individual teaching subject to availability: 45 minutes - 100 €/ teaching session Ensemble: 3 - 6 teaching sessions of 60 min from 490 - 760 € per ensemble Teaching may be distributed among different teachers. Add on - Ensemble or individual teaching subject to availability: 45 minutes - 100 €/teaching session KIS offers up to 4 scholarships for students who wish to develop within the field of accompaniment. Their course fee will be covered in exchange for assisting fellow students as accompanists in lessons and concert situations. Applicants to this program must submit two accompaniment examples of 3 minutes each. For all applicants: Fill out the application form and, if relevant, include a link to a short video of yourself (maximum 5 minutes). We review all applications on a rolling basis, but will keep at least 20 percent of the places open until the deadline on 30 January 2025 If you are approved for participation in the masterclasses, 40 percent of the course fee must be paid within 7 days after confirmed acceptance. The remaining balance must be paid no later than the registration deadline 30 January Refund: KIS ACADEMY offers a full refund of paid fees until 15 January. Cancellations after this date will not be refunded unless the participant can be replaced by another qualified course participant. We have one hotel agreement where participants stay in apartments with cooking facilities. The accommodation price is 40 EUR per person per night, and includes breakfast and a hot lunch served daily. The hotel/apartments are of consistently high standard. NB! Previous participants are entitled to a 10 percent discount on the course fee.
